there is finally sun in my city

I apologise for my continual disappearing acts. ♥ I'll try to atone in about two weeks, after classes end. If I can survive them. Music, as always, has been my chillout drug of choice, and I promise a post about everything I've been drowning in sonically; Radiohead (good job being ten years late on that one), The Weeknd, Wye Oak, James Blake, Kanye ( Read more... )

Good luck with the essays! I have far too much experience in the way extensions make things mount up like that. (And I have no coping skills whatsoever.)

Have some pretty pictures -- which I have to share because I have fallen in love with them.

God, those are terrifying but lovely.

And hee, a link to the Guardian -- you are so undeniably British, I love that about you. :D

Grabbing the download to check it out. Thanks!

My friend is so in love with A Game of Thrones. I don't really like that genre, but the other day there was actually a FOOD TRUCK in NYC that was A Game of THrones themed, and the line was around the avenue block. it was kind of ridiculous. They were serving rabbit or something.

I hope you like it! (Or at least don't dislike it, I don't know very much about your music taste.)

WHAT. That's crazy. The fact that they were serving rabbit is equally crazy. The show is an HBO thing, I guess HBO has money to throw around? Straight-up fantasy isn't actually my genre anymore either, but it was 5 years ago when all of those books were big, apparently.

I will try my best to survive! It's wonderful to see you around, too -- we've both kind of disappeared lately. :) How are you? ♥

You can do it! :) And yes, you're right. I'm tired, but otherwise I feel like I'm walking in a dream. I just got back from a weekend in Montreal and it was so lovely! I guess with all the traveling that is in my near future (which is not how it usually is), it rather feels like there's a lot of excitement to relish. How about you?

adsfl;asl;dkfa RADIOHEAD. The best thing is, I still have so much of their discography to go through! I listen to albums pretty devotedly for a couple of months before moving on, so I spent all winter with Kid A (the compelling, enveloping paranoia!), am beginning to listen to In Rainbows now that the sun's out, and still have a ways to go before I exhaust them. Thom Yorke's voice is just, I have no words. I could go on about this for a long time, but I'll spare you; in summary YAY RADIOHEAD. ♥

Jamie Woon is -- really, a weird dude. I mean that in a good way. He combines folk, r&b/soul, dubstep, and electronica in a way that I've never come across before and can't describe. It's amazing. His debut album comes out later this month, but it's leaked already, so I can upload it for you if you want. :)

I always disdain that kind of high fantasy but secretly I'm pretty fond of it.I know what you mean! I love that kind of thing, if it's done well, and the HBO thing looks like it falls into that category. Late April = an embarrassment of TV ( ... )
