Odd question, but would anyone be interested in reworking the end-of-year meme (ex.) with me, to make it more depression-/disability-friendly? Or even just more ... flexible

I think rewording it is a great idea, because it is kind of crap at the moment. I also don't necessarily feel like question 5 is necessary? I mean, there's space elsewhere in the meme to mention bereavement if you feel comfortable with that, but straight-up asking seems very off-putting to me. Mileage may vary!
Questions about Christmas and New Year are also pretty culturally specific, while we're here, so maybe a more general question about how you spent your holidays?
Maybe instead of New Year's Resolutions, something like "what changes did you make in your life this year? What changes would you like to make next year? What goals did you meet?"
Those are hard for me in part because everything is so superlative. If you live life at a lower key, whether because of things outside your control or just by pleasant choice, it's hard to answer the questions honestly because sometimes there is no "est"/"most" and it makes what did happen seem smaller than it was. A lot of the questions read like facebook status prompts - OMG BEST YEAR/BIRTHDAY/MILKSHAKE/RAINDROP/CAT CRAP EVER!!!!
I'd do things more like "moment with friends" or "tiny triumph" or "quote to remember".
I don't like 23 -- one-night stands are... Irrelevant? I mean, they might have made your year better: they may have made your year worse. Maybe something about "did you learn anything new about your sexuality?". And maybe something about how has your mental health been impacted by the last year? Which should include happier/sadder, but also coping and such.
I do this meme every year just so I have some recollection of what happened, but I find some of the questions rather difficult to answer because they simplify things a little too much. Of course, I've been using a cut down version of the meme that only had 27 of the 40 questions anyway.
I think "What small (or big) thing did you do that you're most/least proud of?" is a much better way of phrasing "What was your biggest achievement/failure?". I never know how to answer the latter question because failure depends on perspective and what you did in response to the "unfavourable" situation. I'd agree that #23 is less relevant to most people.
I want to echo sazzlette. I haven't posted on LJ in years, but I check up from time to time and think about everyone. I'm sending a barrage of happy thoughts your way. ♥
As for the questionnaire, I'd trash the whole thing except for perhaps 1, 7, 8, 15, 26-28, 36 & 38.
