Let me start with this. In bandom, and in most rpf fandoms, the people we are writing about are kind of like actors in our stories. We give our characters the look and the character of a rl person, like, say Ashlee Simpson, because she and the world she inhabits are interesting and familiar to a group of us. We don't actually think that Ashlee and Pete and Patrick had a threesome. I mean. [blushes] I don't think we believe our fics are true in any real sense.
