One Small Step Today, Giant Leaps for Your Tomorrows

Thoughts: I wrote this two months ago. I'm somewhat of a health freak, I agree.
It's just for my personal benefit though, I'm not telling YOU specifically to exercise.
This is just my advice for someone wanting to go down that route as well.
I will also be writing a newer post when I feel more awake today.

These Physical Changes

There’s always been something about morning runs that get me going, get my adrenaline pumping, and gets me yearning for that rush of pavement underneath my strides. And the humidity in the air and the prickles of sweat all over gets my soul into this movement that once was difficult to master now seems so easy to me.

I once tried to make sense of it all, why I function the way I do and to be honest, one of the most relevant realizations I’ve come to understand about personalizing my work-outs is that running and swimming must always be included. Of course, dance and weight training are a given, however those two activities are now dubbed with that namesake too, they have become a staple to my exercise regimens, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So I guess what I’m trying to say is: find what works for you and your body. Sample many different exercise routines and in the end, you’ll find yourself personalizing your own. Try a lot of activities and take up classes, especially the ones you’ve never even heard of before (even if you don’t know you’ll enjoy it). After all, we never know unless we try. Also, being comfortable is the key. Once you find something you feel somewhat complacent with and confident in, things just somehow magically fall into place.

It is also all right if you feel nervous, it’s extremely normal. It’s like going the gym for the first time, there’s this jittery feeling in your stomach as you look at the machines and you have no idea how to work any of them or like taking your first Pointe (ballet) class and you have no idea if you’re lacing up your ribbons right and executing the steps normally enough. Just take into account that everyone was a beginner at one point in their lives and someday, you will transcend that and become the leader of your own work-outs and of your own techniques.

Even though there’ll be days that you will feel discouraged, never give up on yourself. The rewards are even sweeter when hard work and dedication are poured into it. And when you achieve that time and distance in your runs and swims, the new moves you were taught, the discernible muscle you’ve gained, the high is simply indescribable.

So get out there and make the very best of you!
