It does take Cain a few minutes to shake off the little kids who've decided to perch on his shoulders. When he does come up and find's that Marie's in the bathroom, the first thought is of nothing good.

"Marie? Are you okay?' He comes very close to damaging the bathroom's doorframe on his way in.

"Uhmm, Cain... My water just broke and I think I'm having contractions and my due date is still almost seven weeks away and..." She turns towards him, the front of her skirt wet.

"We're having a baby."

"I...you...oh boy." And with that he actually does damage the doorframe as he runs into the adjacent room and calls the hospital. It takes him only a minute to come back.

"I'm driving you. They told me to drive you. I think. I'll carry you." He scoops her up.

She doesn't fight him, not in the least. But then she gasps. No, it's not a contraction. "The kids? Who can stay with them? And what about my bag? It's in the closet and..."
