so i was doing my cashier thing, in a decidedly bad mood, when a screaming and crying baby was moved in front of me. It was a hot mess. Tears running down his puffed red cheeks, mouth open in a capitol q face. Bawling at the top of his lungs.

All i could think of was "that's the way to do it, little guy. It's only gonna get worse than it is now, but you'll be fine. youve got it down already."

although i didnt think it. i said it.

and the kid just kept on crying.
