I was talking to a guy who had come to my youth group the other day and well I was talking about the tattoos and the body piercings I wanted to get when I got out of my parents house. As some of you may or may not know when I get out of my parent's house I'd like to get my lip pierced, my lower back tattooed with i'm saved., and a star & bible

the explanation i read of that tattoo and cutting verse was that it cutting and tattoos used to be used to show devotion to pegan Gods like when the prophets of baal went to do that thing somewhere with Elija i think it was x.X i dont remember exactly but anyways they were all cutting themselves to show their passion and yelling out for baal to consume the bull
and that also makes more sense to me with the part of the verse where God says I am the Lord

i agree. as long as its glorifying God it's okay. I like this post a great deal. if you know in your heart that you love God and are living for Him, then putting a mark on your body that glorifies Him isn't the most horrible thing one can do.
