Pulling 50-55hr weeks at work atm, its getting tedious to be honest, I had a weekend off 2 weeks ago and have had two days off since, I'm exhausted. I'm taking new years and the first week of Jan off and heading down to Cornwall again but it cant come soon enough, christmas in a city centre pub is draining ( Read more... )

Next time I go to town, I should totally pop in and see you. And then make you work like a dog

and £135 return train tickets T_T
Ugh. Trains. I used to find it was cheaper buying each leg of the journey as a single, and waaaay in advance.

You definitely should pop in but probably not atm, we're so busy I'll either be sweating my ass off or crying in the corner somewhere.

Its about £45 per single advance but then I'm restricted to precise timed trains and with so many connections to make between here and Cornwall (was 5 changes last time) its too risky. Plus I dont know how long I was stay yet...

If you're crying in the corner, I'll punch some people for you.

Sometimes train tickets can just get SILLY priced.

3 for 2's are great for token gifts - chocolate and booze are always good.

Last year I wanted to buy one of my house mates a present but not the other... so one got a very nice bottle of red wine (which I know he likes) the other got a large bottle of Stella!

Amazingly, I went with chocolate and booze, without reading this comment first ^^

Tip for token gifts: Boots 3 for 2. Fantastic for little things which don't cost a great deal but are nice enough to pass muster. I tend to find the ideal mixture for male/female is about 60-40. Doesn't matter which gender is dominant but you get the nice bits without much of the fuss.

You could always think about moving here. We have at least 3 'Spoons (one of which is fucking HUGE), rent is relatively cheap (£400 pcm for a two-bedroom terrace), council tax is about £900 a year, we have a uni if you want to continue your studies and I can give you a place to stay until you get sorted.

TV: Try downloading (on terrent) "Fringe", "True Blood", "Carnivale" and "Dollhouse".

Its still a tempting offer but I miss my friends back in Devon and I've got a bunch in Cornwall I'd like to be closer to. I'm done with the whole Uni gig, at least for the forseeable future anyway.

£400pcm isnt even a bedsit in truro >.>
