Luck In Scrabble

People complain so much about Scrabble. Players complain about their own bad luck "my opponent got 8 power tiles." They complain about their opponent's bad luck "sorry I got 8 power tiles that game." Unfortunately, habits are hard to change for some people. No matter how much advice we put out about stuff like this, the improvements are barely noticeable, if at all. And there are always those who complain about those who complain. It's a vicious cycle.

Well a) You are misinterpreting a post I made. I never said I was quitting Scrabble.

b) I'm not sure I feel the same way as I did when I made said post anyway.

i have stopped complaining about luck a while ago as it is ineffectual. now i complain about playing badly.

Well I complain a lot about playing badly too. It's still not a good habit. I feel I should admit my failures and try to improve them, but not stress over them. Especially in the context of a tournament, getting frustrated with your own bad play is toxic...I know, having lost games because of it before.

I like randomly complaining about things that don't even make sense, like "you got both V's the J and the L! C'mon. How am I supposed to win if you draw like that?"

John Karris has started a Bay Area trend of saying "you got all the [tile]s", where said tile is usually nonblank with frequency two.
