Character Personality: Kanaya is weird, by troll standards. She loves sunlight, whereas most trolls are nocturnal, and she loves fashion and bright colors, whereas most trolls have multiple copies of the same outfit. Oh, and she also likes vampire novels. If she met one, she may or may not break her calm demeanor to start fangirling.
Kanaya is calm, patient, and friendly most of the time, and doesn't often take an interest in active trolling. This isn't to say that she won't if the opportunity readily presents itself, though. If one doesn't consider her meddling as trolling, she's much more subtle than others such as Equuius or Karkat.
The most important part of Kanaya's personality is her helping others. At least, that's how she sees it - most of the others consider it meddling. She prefers to mediate from the sidelines rather than taking an active role in drama, whether it propagates or reduces the overall conflict. She forms bonds with all sorts of trolls because of this, whether it's generally pleasant ones like Feferi, or dangerous ones like Vriska.
She does not like it when her mediation is taken for granted - when one troll asked her to with that implication, she turned him down quite thoroughly. This same troll called her "the vvillage twwo wwheel devvice" when it comes to auspisticing, the troll's term for mediation.
It's also a smart decision to take note that Kanaya's trollian handle is grimAuxiliatrix. The "grim" implies, and there is evidence to support, that she is perfectly willing to do some more unpleasant tasks, if the end result is supportive, and keep a poker face the whole time.

Character Abilities: Kanaya is stronger than she looks, and it's this strength that gives her the ability to easily wield her chainsaw. She uses it in combat, of course, but her main reason is to help her sculpt topiary. She's skilled enough with it to make the smallest changes, and to do other intricate things like cutting her friend's legs off.
Kanaya is also a skilled seamstress. It's one of her main hobbies, after all, and it's something she likes to do whenever she has the time. In canon, she has a Wardrobifier - an orb that can randomly change her outfit. When she uses it, it usually cycles with four, all of which she designed and made herself.
Character Weaknesses: Generally, it takes quite a lot to get Kanaya angry, but when she feels like she's been wronged, she can hold a grudge like nobody's business. She can be very childish with it. She cuts off her friend's legs with her chainsaw, and it is not a far cry to suggest that jealousy may have been a root cause of it. Either way, she certainly shows no inhibition or hesitation. Kanaya is probably the most well-balanced troll, but this isn't always a good thing. Since she is sought out by other trolls in part because of this, she is often overlooked and taken for granted. Her meddling also gets in the way of things, when she's too eager to deal with trouble or drama. She doesn't directly cause it, but she'll often play a hand.

Why your character should be a Weapon: There's a simple explanation for this, really. Kanaya's main motivation is helping people, and were she a weapon, she'd be able to assist much better. She isn't one to want to play the leader, but rather be a support in whatever means necessary if she has the ability.
What is your character's Weapon form?: Kanaya's weapon form is a chainsaw. In this form, she is capable of cutting through soul wavelengths. She also has the ability to heal her Meister to an inverse proportion of damage done - a minor injury will be healed completely, but a fatal wound would only be to the extent that it's no longer fatal.

She put her scissors down, humming to herself. Stretch here, tug there, now it fit the pattern perfectly. She smiled. She wouldn't let it be anything less than perfect. It's for someone important, after all, and what better way to show someone you care than doing better than your best?
Now the wings, those were a little more challenging. Fabric over wire to be sure they hold their shape, that was the way to go. The trick was making them look airy. They had been, so far, but they also hadn't been sewn on yet. So many things could change. Little things, but still important nonetheless.
It looked like she'd have enough fabric left over to make another pillow. Can't have too many of those, not when they add so much color! She sewed up the dress, added the wings - and there. Perfect. She just hoped it would be well liked.
