I would be wary of both the landlord and the neighbor. Maybe the neighbor just wants you gone. . . and maybe the landlord doesn't want to own up to her shit talking.

Im definately being cautious but I know theres a lot of laws protecting me and she would have to give me a decent notice considering I paid the last months rent and if she didnt I would lawyer up immediately.
They are red eared sliders.
