Okay I dealt with it all pretty well until you started discussing the "resonance" of bromide bonds.

True to my own chem geekness, I understand NONE of the physics stuff, but everything of the ochem stuff.

Oh god. I have an overwhelming urge to name the compound.

<30 mins later....>

OMG THIS COMPOUND IS TOO HARD TO NAME! The phenyl-C=0-propane is totally un-name-able. The primary group should be the ketone, but I don't know how to name the benzene with the ketone. Benzone/phenone sounds weird, and is wrong anyway.

The only reason I have a remote idea of how to name the compound is because we just did this chapter for the midterm... Um. I have a feeling I probably screwed it up on the test.

I'm going to say... 4-bromo-3-hydroxy-(1-isopropyl)-benzone. Um. Then again. I could be way off, this is my idea off of a half hour of sleep, and lab in an hour. :(

I should have figured this out beforehand. Shame on me. but HOORAY for chem geekiness. :D

Wellll I fixed the bonds and stuff so hypothetically it should be possible. I just. evidently fail at IUPAC. and caring. XD
