religious logic (or lack of)

Lately, it seems like I've been running into a lot of people who want me to convert to whatever brand of Christianity it is that they follow.  The common threads that seems to be running through all the attempts to bring me over to "The right way", are a firm conviction that they, and ONLY they, have the one "Truth" and that everyone else is at ( Read more... )

LOL yeah, I can see where that would throw them for a loop.

One of my personal favorite tactics is something like this:

"So, you believe that the Bible is the literal Word of God?" To which I have only ever had one person say anything other than yes.

"So... could you please describe for me the book of Corinthians?" (a collection of letters from Paul to the people of Corinth)

Ummmmm...

That usually ends it right there. ::G::

My usual response is: You believe this because you have a personal relationship with God, right? Personal revelations, religious teachings which reassure you that your path is the right path for you?
