Review

The official launch date for the book in the UK is September 11. The first newspaper review, in The Times, is here. My mother thought it was a very positive review. I think it's odd and neither one thing nor t'other. But still a review. And now I am humourless and shunting to add to pungent and erudite and engrossing.

the toilet paper cover is for you Yanks. the cleaner more subtle blue and white one is, oddly, for the toilet-humour-loving Brits. I like both, actually. I think the toilet paper isn't too immediately obvious and the type is nice and bold. The British cover is just clean and lovely.

The review: yes, I agree. I think the criticism at the end is because every review has to criticise. The token closer. It's just that the opening makes me sound like a humourless git.

I'm just working on an extract for the Guardian. On biosolids, one of my American chapters. I have to Britishify it by tomorrow morning so I am reading through the Safe Sludge Matrix and net regulations for land application of sewage sludge. Great. There will be another extract in the Sunday Telegraph. On Sunday, obviously.
