It's still warm enough, in late autumn, for the windows to be open at night. The wind carries the sharp smell of salt into the bedroom and the extravagant house is close enough to the water for him to hear the rhythmic sounds of the water crashing on to the beach

Thank you. WR Justin has been far too quiet lately and I've had this little ficlette idea in my head for almost as long as Sol has had a journal.

Maggie and Mads are both mush. It is an excellent fic.

Pol, oddly enough, has this sort of 'of course' or 'naturally' attitude. I don't think Justin not being a loving, attentive father to his young children ever occurred to him.

I was a bit concerned with the bit in the middle about assuming that Maggie would argue about not having a nurse for the baby, but that seemed to me like a pretty safe bet so I threw it in there. Hope you don't mind.

And like I mentioned to our RP daughters mun, my favorite part is the bit where Justin is trying to explain to baby Sol that DuMorne's don't cry and that should be enough for the infant to stop crying.

Ditto! We both love it sosososo much! And Sol loves her daddy and (sometimes even) listens to him!

Justin loves his baby girl, even when she doesn't listen to him and as mentioned up there, I've had the image of this in my head for a while now.
