: \

needless to say, i am not too happy about this.

but seriously.

get this.

i saw the measurements on the ultrasound screen, and my left ovary is 42 millimeters, which is a normal size and equals out to roughly 1 1/2 inches. BUT...my right ovary is currently sittin' pretty at 116 millimeters, which ( Read more... )

i had to have my right ovary removed in october of 2001. the horrendous pain of having a giant (and exploded and gangrenous ovary) immediately went away after surgery. i only had to take 2 pain pills after the surgery and was immediately feeling better, after months of saying ow ow ow, someone shoot me. i still have lefty and i still have periods but all that nightmare pain from the giant ovary is gone. i have a scar inside my belly button and two little ones on my stomach. the worst part of the surgery is the shot in your stomach to prevent blood clots, but i don't know if you'll have that because they might have only given that to me because i had a history of blood clots during surgery. don't ride any horses or boys for a couple weeks after and you should be fine.

if you don't mind me asking, what exactly happened to make it explode? i've probably got a little while before i have my surgery, so i kind of want to avoid random ovary trauma. ;)

thanks so much for telling me all of this. it really helps to hear that it'll be ok from someone who's been through it as well. *big hugs*

have you found a nice house to move to yet?

i've had a lot of injuries in my life including falls off of horses. (i don't ride anymore and haven't for years). The one thing that sticks out in my mind as a direct ovary injury is when I had a heart procedure and they went in through the vein in my groin. Afterwards they had an orderly compress the wound for over an hour to stop the bleeding. It wouldn't quit and so he was pressing really hard on my right side. I told him he was really hurting me, but he said he had his orders and was leaning his entire body weight on my right groin area. I was seriously in tears. I am pretty sure that he crushed my ovary because it was never right after that. :(

as for avoiding random ovary drama, I guess if it was me, i would avoid reverse cowgirl. lol.

no we haven't found a place to move to.

i deleted my journal, but don't be alarmed. i am fine. i just don't want to write in it anymore. it was kinda depressing and i am going to try to do other things for awhile, rather than write in this thing.

good luck with your surgery! **hugs*** eve
