the surgery was a total success. the actual valve repair only took 45 minutes. of course, that doesn't include the time it took to cut him open and swew him up, but i am amazed that they got such a major surgery done so well, so quickly. he was operated on by the top surgeon in the top hospital in the country, though, so maybe that was to be ( Read more... )

I am very happy for your good news :). I am wishing/praying for his speedy recovery. No matter what, treasure yer ma and pa as long as you can. When they are gone, its never the same.

Glad your daddy is ok! I'm reminded daily about my mom's mortality and I am a mess because of it.

I wish they'd let me listen to music when I had all my surgeries. Ugh. That would have been so great.

I'm glad he's doing okay. And I understand what you mean about the mortality thing, when my Grandad was alive I really looked up to him and could never imagine anything happening to him. He had heart problems, so we went to visit him in hospital to cheer him up, and he seemed so different, it was really sad. :( He was pale, thin and quiet, and nothing like his old, fun and jokey self. Just made it all hit home about my parents and grandparents getting old and dying one day. I hate the fact that that's the last image I'll have of him, because he wasn't like himself at all :\

Hello Ware,

Something that alot of people go through I imagine. That future we all dread that must come to pass, haunts those who realize such mortallity. Only thing to do is to make the best of each day and enjoy the time our parents are here. Put aside and regrets that may surface from the past. Your father still loves you, I'm sure of it.
