ok, so 2 of the four options in this poll require us to be there. The first two have nothing more than us saying do this or do that...he didn't say strict timetable and then send american troops in...he said send un troops in...

We don't have to be there to be involved. With "stay out of it", it's generally implied that one should keep his or herself out of ALL ASPECTS of the situation.

But the reality of it is that Isreal is our Allie an d we will support whatever Isreal does. The Mi-East all has issues that link every country together as a whole, so if Isreal puts a beating on Lebanon, Lebanon might call on Syria and Iran for help. If that were to happen, Isreal would ask, if not demand, that the UN help and the US is in the UN, so we would become involved in either UN affairs or by an allie asking for help.
