For those of you unaware, I'll be leaving Austin at the end of September for a 5-month contract position with Raytheon Polar Services Company at McMurdo Station, Antarctica about 2200 miles south of New Zealand. I expect to hang out in Oceana for a month or so once I return in mid-February.
So I haven't decided if I'm going to actually start

Plus I think Ice Station Zebra Is a way more accurate representation of the pole.

i've always wanted to do the southpole thing. and write (another) novel, or take up guitar, or something. i'll be curious to see how you enjoy it. would love to hear about it via your journal =) or over beers when you get back. come visit us!
