I don’t post very often, and when I do it tends to be for purely the entertainment value. Today is a little different, I have an agenda I wish to pursue and I felt it important enough to post here.

Many of you know that a few years ago I took in a rescue dog, Dexter. He was actually rescued once before I took him in. He had suffered abuses that ( Read more... )

It is horrible and unfortunately it is totally true. Dex is such a good dog and I can't even consider what it would take to give him up to the "authorities". I feel sorry for the person who is sent out to collect him...I won't give him up easy.

My own Pit Bull Story jjliveshere May 22 2008, 16:26:35 UTC
Akako and I had a pit bull (lived on the Green Waste Facility that I managed - in California). Her name was Red! You can imagine what color she was. She slept on a chair on our front porch. Guarded us at night and we opening loved and fed her whenever she requested it. She had a litter of puppies while on the "Ranch" and I took her and had her spayed. She wasn't our responsibility, but she was "our dog". I wasn't able to take her when we left the "Ranch" the owner wouldn't let us.....But I support your concern about this new bill and will write the letter. The breed are no different then the Labordoodle that my sister paid 1200 dollars for! It is their owner's - that are the problem but, then that goes for any breed of dog, not just Pit Bulls!

(getting off my soap box now)

It's funny how Pit Bulls are the ones targeted, when Rottweilers, German Shepherds, and Dobermans. It's the image perpetrated.

I pray for the retard who tries to take your dog, kelly. kick his ass.

Joann, thanks for your email. I do not believe this bill has much support and I do not believe it will progress in the House. It does not have my support.

Thank you for your active citizenship in regard to this issue.
