Went up to Mt. Antero on Sat and looked for aquamarine crystals at the summit just below the actual climb to the peak. Forgot how freaking wild that drive is up there over rocks and rivers and dirt in a 4x4. Found crap and then the storms came in and we had to bail. Many people I know have had people die in the past month, there's a number of people I know that all of a sudden are getting diagonsed with something or having surgeries. Made it to Destroit, got to Jays and hung out with him and John for 2 nights. Over to Bobos for the weekend, drank beer, played with animals, swam, burnt my nose and lip eating a flaming marshmellow. Saw Kev and his wife and Heather and her mom and drank more beer. Same for tonight then back home on Tues. That is all...

Trip 2 this summer is about to embark to lands unknown. Flying into Destroit at midnight YAY! Then driving through Destroit after midnight to get over into Canada. So my plans to hit the Barite crystlas in Grand Junction is off. Just got a call from the organizer and because of the rains the roads to the sites will be really bad even for 4x4s so he called it off. Fri I ended up north of Sidney, Nebraska and caught the storm that did some tornadoes earlier in Wyoming. Tons of storm chaser there, professionals, radars everywhere, satelite dishes on trucks and even an black armored vehical, along with storm chasing tour busses etc. Didn't quite produce a tornado though, but I was right under the wall cloud ( Read more... )

Road trip over, boooo. Had a great time, drove to Vegas Fri in the morning after work and got there at 6 or 7pm. Got my room at the Golden Gate on Fremont and had a nice room with a crappy view (I did mention Fremont St right?).
