Michael Vick and extinction

I find it so irksome that people give a shit about Michael Vick and now hate him just because he allegedly had a dogfighting business, yet there isn't the same awareness about the extinct or critically endangered animals today---the baiji for instance.  That was one of the oldest animals on earth dating from 20,000 years ago and now they're gone ( Read more... )

The problem is that Michael Vick is a rolemodel to children, not only in Atlanta, but around the country. The fact that he allegedly owned and ran a dog fighting 'league' is irresponsible, selfish, and disgusting. The problem is that he's setting an example for kids everywhere.

Yeah true, but that doesn't mean we can't focus on animal abuses on a larger scale either.

Sometimes it takes an event that's more relevant to the majority of the public (a highly-paid quarterback running a dog fighting league) to lead people to see larger issues.
