I'm a bad person, but I don't realize it till I am way to far into a situation to gracefully back out.  I've been a very mean person to quite a few people, and it seems I will soon have to add another to the list.  Why do I keep doing this?  Am I unconsciously selfish ( Read more... )

One: is selfishness actually a cause of meanness?

Two: what is the Look Game?

1: Well, selfish people are frequently mean. So, maybe its not a cause, but closely related.

2: The look game is where everyone is in a circle with their head down. Someone counts to three and everyone looks at another person at the table. If two people are looking at each other, they are both out. It's kind of a weird game of trying to anticipate what other people are going to do.

Heehee! You're probably in the lower third of the population as regards selfishness... Still selfish enough to be occasionally annoying, but better than the majority of humanity.

It sounds like you're maybe as mean as I was in undergrad... Which means that you'll look back and think about what a raging dick you were to certain people (other people likely deserved it). The best advice I can offer is to be really nice to people you haven't been a dick to yet... That way, someone might still like you when you graduate. *grin*

That's probably good advice, but I've probably been a dick to some people and not even known it.

Maybe I should just be a dick to everyone so I can start fresh.
