Has anyone else noticed that the way you experience pain is different when you get older?

When I was younger, pain was much more a separate sensation that anything else. It had character of its own, a sharp distinctiveness that I could clearly distinguish from the other many and sundry sensations I experienced.

because when you get old, you get more creaky-- the world is weighing heavier on you and your buckling under its immense mass.

i think the fact that your experiencing additional pain to the regular pain you'd normally get is just a reflection of the all-in-one mentality that we now have. just as you can have an mp3-player, video player, palm-pilot and cell-phone all in one, you can likewise experience headache, nausea, dizziness + physical agony all in one!

lovely, isn't it?

take an asprin, my dear. have some hot cocoa, close your eyes and dream a little dream. it'll all get better sometime.

I had a BRUTAL dehydration headache and still have some residual effects from getting skull-knocked in the temple yesterday but I'm doing much better now... without the aid of asprin, Advil or any other analgesics or NSAIDS. I hate taking drugs, blech.

Chocolate milk works wonders, apparently. :D
