I've set aside today for LiveJournal catching-up, apartment co-cleaning, vocal arranging work, and switching between college gridiron* (on all networks, it seems) and the rare outdoor NHL game (on NBC, and it's taking forever, with the constant ice repairing). an outdoor NHL game? really?

The Winter Classic (sponsored by Amp'd energy drink, as we were relentlessly reminded of). The first outdoor NHL game in the US ever, the second outdoor game anywhere in NHL history (the first being four years ago in Edmonton, as a publicity stunt), and only the second sanctioned outdoor game in the US in recent memory (the most recent being Univ. of Michigan vs. Michigan State in 2002). Really odd to see a relatively tiny hockey rink on the floor of the Buffalo Bills' 73,000-seat stadium (and completely sold out, at that).
