The Heroes of the Dawn!

And so it begins... again. Having officially ended my hiatus from gaming and also rekindled my interest in the game, I will be STing an Exalted game starting May 19th. This will be my first real use of the 2nd edition rules, my only other experience being an attempt to convert extremely high-powered PCs from a previous campaign. That didn't go ( Read more... )

Second edition, feh... *clings to her extensive library of first ed books*

More seriously, you planning an all-Solars game?

First ed is great.. for losers! ;)

Yep, all Solars, at least to begin. At least three of my players have never played Exalted before, so I want to keep the corebook as the only required volume for players.

In fact, with no prompting on my part it looks like the core five players might wind up being a Perfect Circle. Always nice.

I'm reminded of many fantastic games, back in the day. I still wonder what ol' Flux is up to.

Flux! Now, my Aberrant game I was very happy with. Rich still snarls when I mention Chiraben.

Actually, Exalted is like Aberrant in terms of scale, just using a fantasy setting instead of modern day comic book. Every now and then I get a little itch to do some fun with Novas.

ahem, well I thought your other game went fine while it lasted. Truth be told I was enjoying it even more than your first game. Maybe because I was actually there for all of it... or maybe because it didn't have a dungeon crawl :) (sorry that was too easy).

It's hard to think in terms of starting characters again now that I've tasted near god-hood.

Eh. I was extremely displeased with my last game for a number of reasons. Not the least of which was that I clearly wasn't invested in making the game as good as possible, probably because I was burning out. If you actually liked it, hopefully this'll be even better.

...as long as you can deal with not being a god. I admit, I am a little worried about you, Rich, and Erika in that regard. You won't be flying through armadas of airships fighting thousands of second and third circle demons with the secrets obtained in the farthest northern wastes any time soon. More protecting towns and villages from crumbling into the Wyld and against enslavement by beastmen led by psychotic shapeshifting social engineers.

God, I love this game.

I will do my best to avoid out and out dungeon crawls this time though. Any cavern delving will be more narrative, less square-inch maps. Like the tunnels under Gethemane.
