last night i had some form of ongoing dream about being pursued by criminals in a large city wasteland. I recall at one point being in a giant ant farm setup, but based on mario video games. It was a very shallow space, with glass forming one wall, so people could look in. I was tasked with running left and right and jumping around. but i kept falling into traps. and progressing lower and lower. failing. for other's amusement. I couldn't see out. but i could see myself from outsider's perspective.
at some point in here i woke up and wandered around the house. then realized i'd only slept for 4 hours, so i should go back. It seemed too hot. I jotted down these cryptic notes on a peice of paper "Jumpless platformer. you walk wherever. they're stuck down."
anywho. this next part of the night's dreaming was more clearly about being lost in city streets i didn't recognize, in some endless mass of city hundreds of miles in all directions. I've been in this landscape before (usually confused in my mind as some kind of combination of Seattle and Los Angeles, but I'm in the eastern washington portion).
I have to run, but I recall the majority of this portion of the dream revolving around me "getting away" to the point where i could use a cell phone. but i didn't trust the cops. i kept talking to them over the phone. feeding details. describing streets. but i didn't want to say where I was exactly, because i was worried they were dirty, or the bad guys were listening in. the cops only wanted to send a single squad car and i knew this wasn't enough. we needed a swat team to stop all the baddies i'd run into. the fact they only wanted to send a squad car seemed insulting. i pictured the guy from Die Hard.
ANywho. at one point i was hanging in an abandoned lot full of pink painted trash. i realized that it was a giant sculpture of a woman with fingers on her face. I realized a column over there was covered in the repeating word "FEIST". and i realized the lot was abandoned, it was carefully orchestrated to appear this trashy to promote a new album.
