Current tally of Syd Barret's Dead e-mails I've gotten today: 15. I think this may beat the Rick James day in terms of number of people who don't know how to read an e-mail list/yahoogroup/whatever before they post to it. Not that I didn't want to know, and I have no problem w/people posting to a list where it hasn't been mentioned yet. But

I'm wondering if I know this e-mail list you speak of. Anyway, there's also the chance the person who posted it is using digest mode (I know I do, for a few lists).

It's happened on at least three or four lists I'm on. i'm not even really complaining - even spam or any other kind of unnecessary e-mails don't bug me, hitting delete is easy enough. It's just kind of funny to see how many people do it - kinda the way every list used to get at least one "remove me" or "how do I quit" e-mail every day...

Yeah, I have a low tolerance for that stuff too. :) "Professional lists" I'm on get those same incorrect unsubscribe e-mails all the time.

dude, the people on my school "professionals list" send NASTY unsubscribe e-mails. act like they just got put on a porn listserv. librarians, man.
