Except when he plays in a trio with Carlos Giffoni and John Wiese and they thoroughly drown out all of the violin sounds, which is what happened at this show, grrrr.

Living in Ohio has some advantages, one of em is getting to see Spencer play fairly regularly. He even has a guest spot on the new Times New Viking album coming out on Matador.

Giffoni and Wiese and Yeh sounds like overkill... saw Yeh + Wiese open for Wolf Eyes in Columbus early this year and it was actually rather nuanced and thoughtful.

I heard a similar positive review of the Yeh/Wiese duo from none other than lj_warrenjabali hisself, who caught them last week in NY. Giffoni fucked the whole thing up!

Wow Damo Suzuki! I thought he wasn't allowed back in the country. I saw him a long time ago with Michael Karoli.
