One of the schools I applied to for undergrad, oh-so-many years ago, was Paul Smith's College, up in the Adirondacks. They had a farrier program at the time-- I'm not sure if they still do. Horses have been known to write brutal intellectual articles on how useless being shod is in the modern world. You haven't seen dense critical writing until you've seen a theoretical paper on shoeing writing be an Equine Professor of Human Studies. They're brutal and what's more, they weight thousands of pounds and know when you are scared.
