you have such great analogies and ways of describing the simplest of actions, i kind of want to steal everything you say for my own. things like: he thought that anyone who forgot that ice burned just as well as fire was a fool and yet they contained all the pleasure and reverence a wine connoisseur reserved for the first decanting of a prized vintage - beautifully expressed ( ... )

I can't believe I'm so late responding to comments :( but thank you so much, Apsara!!

Right back at you with wanting to steal what you say. I think there's one line, maybe from Panchali, that has made me want to write a whole fic around it. "Kings and Keepers" would be the title, I think.

A/Z need angst too! I think they actually should have fantastic blow-ups. You hit it on the nail exactly -- Ami tries to avoid as long as possible but Zoisite wants to get it all out in the open. She deals with it as long as she can and then she explodes, which of course sets Zoisite off too since he's been spoiling for a fight anyway. Oh my. What dysfunctional couples we have here. I think spymaster Zoi is my equivalent of your executioner Zoi in A White and Crumbling Princess 'verse.

Yay! I'm so glad you like the R/J :) Usagi's choice of hiding place for the crystal is one of my favorite parts. Thank you thank you, Apsara! I am just catching up on my reading/reviewing now and hope to make it over to That Lay Behind Them soon.

Ohhh, you switched the dynamics around this time! It was so unexpected to see Jadeite and Rei interacting so peacefully and the way he just gets her is terrific. It is a moment like this that shows why they even got together in the first place, before the fighting, before the war, before the murder. They share something, an understanding of who they are and why they behave the way they do. I think this is also why Jadeite is able to put up with so much of her venom: he just gets where it comes from, and how being this angry is part of her character, part of the passion she once felt for him. And the other side of the coin are those peaceful moments were they coexist. Love it. And I haven't even said anything about the beauty of your writing yet, but Apsara has commented on that more aptly than I could, so I'll just second everything she said and add a big fat happy puppy stamp ( ... )

Apologies for the delayed response! Thank you for your wonderful words, Lytton!! I'm so glad you like the R/J interaction. Trying to show why they work together is a challenge for me, particularly with the way Two Truths started out and just always starting with the Shitennou/senshi premise, but I'm working on it :D

I love your analysis of Zoisite here. Yes, he is nasty! And swift! Part of how he keeps up with Ami, when he puts his tongue to better use.

I am all caught up on On Razor's Edge but not on my commenting or your other fics, so I will be over soon with comments and tears. Very much looking forward to it. :)
