how do you do this? How? Damn, Ice, this is so good. And it's tragic, but not maudlin, emotional, but not sentimental. Love love love. And Mercury's resolution to let him go, to take herself out of the picture. How hard that must have been, how much it must have cost her, knowing it's their last chance.
Also, I love this CT version you've created. It's haunting, with the machines and its livelessness, and its continuous circles of rebirths. I like that you made it rebirths rather than one long life, it's a fresh and new touch.
She had been called a homewrecker more times than she could count by women who looked more like her first incarnation than she did.
And they don't always look the same! Interesting, very very interesting! One more thing that I adore about this is that you don't take the shitennou's unmagical girlfriends out of the equation. They exist, so when the senshi make their appearance, they actually break couples apart.

Yes! They don't always look the same! But their eyes are always the same because of the eyes/souls stuff.
A lot of fics tended to have the senshi/Shitennou reawakening and from then on, everything's only about how they deal with each other, will they or won't they get together. I have been very guilty of this myself, so I've been thinking more about what happens when they regain their memories ("Masks" is also in this vein but from Zoi's POV).
