A/N: Day 8 of Advent Drabblender 2011. No idea what ‘verse this belongs in, but I’ll tentatively shelve it in the General Destiny ‘verse. Apparently my mind thinks Mako and Neph need angst too…

not gonna lie, i'm rather enjoying some of these deliciously melancholic pieces you've been putting up, especially since i think jupiter and nephrite never really get their fair share of angst :P and wow, what an unangstable prompt you've angsted - mulled wine and hot cocoa! love it. you really empathize with neph and his guilt in this one, how absolutely everything around him is another haunting reminder of his past - even something as mundane as a hot drink. his feelings are so stark and visceral, and i love how makoto knows, and how she's just steadfastly there for him. beautiful!

thank you for your comments!! i'm very glad to hear these are liked :) i really like the holidays but for some reason a perverse twist of nature makes me want to write angst for the lovely happy prompts.

yes, i think i've read surprisingly little mako/neph angst. the last i can remember reading is K. Wyse's ficathon piece. maybe it's because mako's backstory is so sad. i should ask a M/N shipper one day :)
