Poll Which birthday should I use for Feliks?
I originally meant to make this post shortly after reading this question by Arushiaoi but for some reason, I never got to it. In light of the recent birthdays that have come up in the previous month, I was wondering if Poland's birthday is acceptable or not.
I actually first became aware of this shortly after being accepted as Feliks when I was looking up basic information. I first read that Poland's independence day is November 11th and had that up originally. Then I read that his birthday was July 22nd and changed it a few days later. I didn't know why but I figured if its the official date then that should be it, right? I mean, I looked into it briefly and it looked okay but that didn't mean it was okay.
Himaruya has announced Poland's birthday as being July 22nd. What is wrong with this birth date one might ask? July 22nd is the day Poland adopted a communist-based constitution. Prior to this, I already knew that Poland had once been a communist nation but as most of you should know by now, Poland is not a communist nation-- its a parliamentary republic. Further research on the matter turns up that (naturally) the history from this time isn't one the Poles are too pleased about.
As previously stated before, I am not Polish so I cannot speak for anyone of Polish nationality which is why I'm asking the general public to help me reach a decision on the matter. Aside from being in character and as accurate as possible, I don't want to offend anyone! I know that I would be at least a little miffed (if not completely offended) if someone were to make a mistake on my national history or even my PERSONAL history and establish it as a fact for everyone else to blindly accept.
So this brings me to my question: Should I change Feliks' birthday to November 11 which is the celebrated date of independence? Or should I stick to canon and keep it at July 22?
