apathy is indeed lethal, even more destructive than hate.

hate grows and burns but apathy sits, rots; it becomes stale and leaks an awful, awful odour into the air.

Oddly-- in Berlin itself, in the final hours before the Red Army took the city, the last units fighting on in the subway tunnels weren't German, but rather Spanish (Brigade Ezquerra) and French (SS Division Charlemagne) volunteers of the Waffen-SS...

hopefully, if ever i return to germany for an extended period of time, i'll visit prague.
actually, i'm really considering majoring in international relations with a concentration in central/eastern europe, so perhaps six or so months in prague would do the soul some good.
what does your sister say of the city?

my sister loves the city. to death, actually. she's amazing with languages so she can completely understand it (which is crazy because its known to be only for the native speakers) and when it comes to speaking it, she's very good as well.

im hoping (out of my realm actually) that i might be able to visit her this summer there. i can only hope at this point.

i haven't yet had the opportunity to take any specific european history courses, so i'm doing a lot of independent reading to make up for my insatiable curiosity :)
