This is true, and I thank you for your grace.

However, I'm aware that there are several people on my friends list who have been mauled and brutalised in the name of God. I'm aware that even the most casual discussion of issues in this arena have the potential to cause them pain.

I value their friendship, and respect them far too much to risk that. This way I can discuss these things on my heart without causing them further pain.
