I resemble that remark! However, I am leaning on the chemical crutch. It can help when the problem is most likely an imbalance. I did have to change because the side effects of Effexor were absolutely miserable. I'm currently trying Wellbutrin and Zoloft.
And then, sometimes, Time is the key. Everything changes. Clouds ultimately part. But you know in your gut what to do. The trick is in getting the gut to communicate with the brain. Ah, there's the rub.
I'm feeling for you, man. You're right - I *don't* know; at least nowhere near to the degree you describe so eloquently - but I've had glimpses, and I can empathise with the rest all the same.
I guess the old 'one day at a time' type cliches hold true... But it's good to hear that generally you're doing better and getting with getting on.
BTW if people around you don't understand what you're going through, a blog post like that would sure give them some insight... Maybe when you're clear of the clouds sometimes, that's the kind of thing you might share? (Or possibly already do...)
