PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES: how he ticks

MACHINERY

Kaito's largest differences from a normal human being are in his skeleton. All of his bones have been replaced with various man-made materials, mostly a medical-grade titanium alloy. This was originally in order to provide greater stability for the computer housed in his midsection, but has the beneficial side effect of making it imposible to break any of his bones.

In addition, his major joints (shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, wrists, and ankles) have been augmented with gears and related machinery, again for stability. These are all currently in various states of disrepair, and are quite noisy as a result- Kaito makes a low level whirring noise when he moves normally, and certain movements make him creak like old playground equipment. He is capable of moving without engaging any gears, and does so when he feels the need for stealth, but the result looks extremely unnatural. The noise will even out and fade as his body finishes healing.

COMPUTER

There is a computer- or rather, several computers- housed in Kaito's midsection, with a port for interfacing located on his lower back, a few inches to the left of his spine. It comes in several parts:

DATABASE: Exactly what it sounds like. Primarily taken up by language information consisting of a speech recognition program, a dictionary/encyclopedia, syntax rules, and writing recognition. This is what allowed Kaito to understand speech and read without having to be explicitly taught, although there are limitations (and it was much less helpful in teaching him how to speak and write for himself). It also has a rather sophisticated program, nearly an AI in itself, for interfacing with the human brain and using the information gained to decide when and what information to present. No longer in heavy use, as Kaito has learned to understand speech on his own, but still necessary for reading anything beyond very basic kanji.

MOVEMENT/VITAL SIGNS: Acts as a backup to the brainstem and synchronizes gear and muscle activity via the parts

BIOLOGY

Not gonna lie, this part will contain a good deal of handwaving and bullshittery. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE A MEDICAL DEGREE but you want to hash out every little detail of... a character that could not possibly exist in real life anyway lololo

Kaito's hair grew to about the same length as Len's during his year with Miku, and she (being Miku) bothered him enough about letting her play with it that he eventually gave in.
She gave him pigtails, attempted braiding bits of it, and finally put it in a ponytail.

That was the point where he asked her, very quietly, if she wouldn't mind helping him cut it. When she asked why, disappointed (he looked GOOD with long hair!), he only replied that it made him look too much like someone he could never forgive.

THE BLOCK

As stated, Kaito is currently unable to feel any sort of sexual arousal or desire. However, that is entirely mental; his body still reacts to the appropriate stimulus. He is able to have an erection, and he would be able to orgasm (although the second would require a lot of work, since he's missing the mental component, and he wouldn't enjoy it much.)

Sexual pleasure, on the other hand, is still present, albeit in a modified form. It's pretty much on the same level as any other sort of pleasant physical contact (if more intense), and instead of having any sort of need for it he would just... sort of go floppy if he got it. ~A~ feels good~ etc. Lots of endorphins, not so much sex hormones- kind of a permanent afterglow

NERVES

aka EROGENOUS ZONES but I don't want that just... sitting out there in the subject line when this section collapses, this is embarassing enough!

So I totally lied about NOT FEELING ANYTHING SOUTH OF HIS CHEST up there by the way, but I wasn't gonna mention peen in the sfw spot. YES HE HAS BLOODFLOW THERE, HE CAN FEEL THINGS. Sort of- it is limited, and he only gets enough bloodflow for that when excited. Said bloodflow extends to his lower stomach as well, which normally doesn't have anything.

Fortunately for Kaito in his not-fully-healed state, he has other options. Since he's so unused to feeling the full effect of any sort of physical touch, any of the places he has full sensation works just as well for that sort of thing- and doubly so for his mouth. If he ever discovers french kissing, it will be a beautiful day indeed for him :')

The only ones he uses at all around other people are kit, cat, and Eve, all with varying diminutives stuck on (-ling, -let, etc). Evesdrop, sweetheart, and sweeting are reserved for when he thinks he can't be overheard (which means Len has probably walked in on him cooing these at Eve at least once).

Occasionally he will drop into ridiculously shmoopy territory and call her things like love and gorgeous and dear heart but those are behind closed doors and when nobody is home. HIS DIGNITY IS A FRAGILE THING THAT MUST BE GUARDED.
