hey kid! I've actually steered clear of Katsu-ya because of some horror stories, but just down the street like right after/before tujunga, is this place called Sushi Dan, and it's the only sushi place I'll go to(unless I feel like dropping 50 bones at Koi for some Kobe Beef). Everytime I go anywhere else, I wish that I would have just went back to good ol' Sushi Dan. you MUST try it,, and here's what you MUST include in your order; a Hot Night Roll(not the "Hot Night 2" roll), the Crunch Onion with Sashimi, and the Crunchy Tuna Sushi Special.. you'll be set, and trapped, and doomed a life of SushiDandom forever.

people are kinda crazy about this place in Venice on Abbot Kinney called Wabi-Sabi which is pretty good, and they actually have this amazing happy hour from like 5-7 and rolls are like $4. and of course there's always Chaya in Venice, but if you're already prepared to blow your paycheck on dinner, you can always just go to Koi in hollywood to get the best sushi ever. Also, there's this other place in the valley called Sushi Nozowa which is basically on Ventura in between Katsu-Ya and Sushi Dan, and supposedly it's the best sush in L.A.. but the place is really traditional and guy is the sushi nazi and he's sent people out for ordering a california roll. you basically have to go and let him serve you. anyways, hope this helps! i'll have some stories to write soon, trying to find the right time to get it all out. till later, comrade-

Now, first off, don't ask me what the hell I'm doing up at this hour. I have no idea.
Second, thanks for the suggestion! I am always looking for good sushi suggestions.
I will definitely go to Sushi Dan soon.
In fact, do you know anything good in Venice?? I've been wondering about that lately.
When you get a moment in the future let me know how the gigs have been going, eh?
