US teens 'reject' key freedoms

Feb 01, 2005 10:49

A significant number of US high-school students regard their constitutional right to freedom of speech as excessive, according to a new survey.

Is this because teachers are incompetent or because of the conservative shift among teenagers? Either way, this is the creepiest thing I've read in a long time.

That was terrifying me. Perhaps that's what the silent man in the administration who's just leaving, Paige, has something to do with this. 4 years of the bush administration, 4 years of highschool, everyone in highschool now, was at oldest 14 when dubya was elected. Their memories of the days before the patriot act are dim and fading. Perhaps I'm cynical about this.

Oh and while adding ya I noticed you're exactly 4 days my elder.

Wait, I figured it out when I actually came to the page and saw your icon. Yeah, my Adorno is rusty but I was just thinking about brushing up so your query was well-timed.
