And yeah, there were definitely trends toward a hot threesome that I totally had to reel myself back from. I'm really considering writing a missing scene. It's so cold there, and they're all so sexy.

Ah, I asked about Book too soon last chapter. XD

Also, the thought that they are at all concerned over the possibility of Mal leaving them to die is heartbreaking. Simon maybe not so much since he's always had an uneasy relationship with the Captain and his life on Serenity. But Inara and Mal have always had their undefinable thing and then there's Wash and Zoe - sad to think that differences over a seven-plus-years-past war could resurface and make people wonder about what they've been feeling all that time. Very interesting and stirring!

Oh! A side note - "major" keeps making me think of the Major from Ghost in the Shell, ahaha. Who knew Wash would have such a distinguished title? The plot thickens!

I thought 'Simon, Inara and Wash...strange combination' and now I'm thinking 'Simon, Inara and Wash...damn interesting!'

But mostly, 'Wash was a Major?! And seems to know a lot about communications, and was this how he knoes Mr Universe...' This fic is just riddled with suspence and mystery and revelations, and the decriptions of this planet that was named after Hell are great at creating atmospher.

Glad you've enjoyed it!

The Serenity novelization says that Wash knows Mr Universe from flight school. In my head, they parted ways and Wash went on to serve when Mr Universe didn't. Not that it makes any difference. I'm just with you on it.
