This is a fore-warning now, this post will offend someone somewhere, I warn you because my intentions are not to offend but to provoke thought on the subject
It's in my view that the human race itself is damaging itself through the use of medicine. While I advocate and push people to receive treatment and never wish bad things upon them, I've come to the view that some of the issues we face may well be caused by the fact that those of us who should die are sometimes able to live on regardless of the attempts of diseases or disorders that should kill us.
It is not that I wish people would die from these health issues, I see this from a broader perspective. In nature the weak and the infirm die, either through disease or from being preyed on. This is how the system stays at what would be classed as a peak efficiency, the stronger survive so the right genetics pass through to the next generation.
Through medicine we have essentially allowed the weak and infirm to continue to live on, be it through surgical or medical intervention. I'm not saying we should let them die, kill them off in mass droves or stop them from having children. I just from my basic understanding of biology have come to the understanding that perhaps we are asking for this, our population is getting larger everyday, our food production isn't going to keep up with this for much longer.
Eventually we will meet a point where food shortages, water shortages and even basic goods will start to become in short supply.
Perhaps I'm just allowing thoughts out onto proverbial paper here, I just well I wonder how long it is until we're all going to start beating each other to death with a golf club for the last packet of crisps on the shelf.
I hope none of you view me in a lesser light because of this, one of my theories which I don't even support has had me treated with disgust by friends before.
