So, I've been thinking a lot about my future lately. Justin Abdelkader (my cousin's cousin) was 2nd round draft pick for the Red Wings I guess, lucky bastard. I guess what I want is an opportunity like that to come before me, something big. I just hope I will be smart enough to take it ( Read more... )

Don't worry about it man. An intelligent person like yourself is bound for greatness (if you pick yourself up off your ass and work for it).

On that note, though, I've been feeling the same way.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I worry that at some point in my life, I will just screw up once, and be bound for failure. I know that there are some people out there totally excited for college. But college is so much more responsibility. It will be cool to be on my own and all, but college worries me that if i make one wrong move, my life is over. I totally understand what you are saying. And damn your cousins cousin for winning the genetics lottery.

success isnt drawn by how much "stuff" you have but by how much value you are...and from what i see you are much more drawn to the value part than "stuff", dont worry about your future, i tried to think way far ahead and it only stressed me out and hurt my brain. Take things a little more in whats front of you because like history show choices that affect us in the future are determined by the past and present. So on that note you have nothing to worry about because i have seen what the homeless life is really like and all they did was make a really really bad choice. Work hard, meet people, make connections, all which you have done already so nothing to worry about.

and that mutual fund. good idea. i think thats the only worthwhile piece of advice i got from crago all year.

explore your options. use your abilities god gave you and everything will be takin care of.

its all good bro.

From what I know... you're a smart kid and you have a good head on your shoulders! You're not the type to go party your life away after high school, so you're already one step ahead of the rest.

Nothings going to come easy, but if you're willing to work for it... which you obviously are... You'll be fine!
