[A: Action, 2241 Stevens]

[Okay...okay, this is rather eerie, isn't it? He had awoken early, though it was odd that he couldn't remember falling asleep in the first place. It was also odd that though he'd been staring into a mirror for the last fifteen minutes, he didn't see any cuts from the chandelier that had come crashing down in the Manor ( Read more... )

[Brilliant. Just brilliant. He had been hoping that he'd at least escape the Potter Brigade by being in this place.]

Potter.

[A pause though.] I really hope you're not implying what I think you are.

Suggesting that I ask my father seems to imply you know his whereabouts.

And what the hell are you doing here anyway? Better yet, what am I doing here with you?

[Lucius is gruff when he answers the phone but his voice changes when he hears his son's voice.]

Draco? [He's more urgent than he would normally have been. He's been here for over two months with only one person not yet hating him. As much as he hates that is son is here, he's also thankful to have someone to talk to you.]

[...okay. So maybe Potter wasn't bluffing. He's very much surprised that Lucius of all people managed to get caught here as well, but it's a bit of a relief knowing such.]

Hello, Father. What's happening here?

We're trapped. Without powers and unable to die.

We should meet. Do you know where you are?

Without powers. [Yeah he hasn't exactly tried that just yet. He'll try on his own once he's out of Lucius' sight. He doesn't want his father to think he doesn't believe him.]

I'm in someone's house. I assume it's mine now. [He leaves the phone to check out the window for a street sign.] Stevens, it says.

[She knows that voice B| To respond or not to respond, that is the question.]

[it takes a moment before a bemused return since she is further than everybody else besides his dad right now.]

They can't be bothered to respond to you, Malfoy.

[...huh. Well, this at least confirms that Granger was still alive. Not that he cared or anything, but it's an interesting discovery. He's not sure he likes the tone, though.]

And why the hell not?

[Not so interesting when you learn about Mayfield, she could be dead really.]

[Does she really want to help him? No, not particularly. ]

You'll find our kidnappers don't particularly have any interest in calls of this variety.

[So this could be a zombie. Excellent. Just what he needs. A know-it-all Mudblood zombie.]

You can't be serious. And just who are our kidnappers?

It's a -- er, what did they call it again - a 'tell-fun', I think? Some kind of magical communication device.

And you won't get very far with that, I'm afraid - our captors don't really talk to us, at least not as far as I know.

[Oh good. Someone else just as clueless as he is. That may help. Not that he'll admit he's clueless.] Absolute rubbish, it is. Isn't there a better device available?

I've already heard that line, but I'm still not believing it. Just who are they, and what is it that they wish to accomplish?

[At least you're not from 2000 years in the past, Draco.] I dunno, I think it's kind of useful. Better than having to run around looking for someone when you want to talk to them, at least.

You're in a town called Mayfield - they've dragged a bunch of people here, and no one's been able to find a way out yet. [There's a brief rustling sound as Merlin ruffles through his notes.] It seems to be run by a little girl called Lucy, a magistrate called Mayor, and a knight called Grady. And we've got no idea why we're here. [Yeah, Merlin's...still kind of behind when it comes to the modern world...]

[...good point. Sorry Merlin.] Couldn't you just send them an owl? Much better use of time if you ask me.

Mayfield...[Okay. That sounds...kind of stupid, but he'll continue listening for the sake of gathering information.] You must be joking though. A little girl, a magistrate, and a knight. You must be joking. [Sorry, he's just going to start laughing. What a ridiculous idea. Of course, the laughter's short-lived.] How long have people been coming here?

It's true then. Absolutely no one has been able to contact them?

"To be fair, we're not 100% certain who it is. There are several guesses, some quite logical, however pinning anything in this town down is rather bothersome."

And just how long have you been here? [The answer to this question will really just determine if he can take the former answer seriously or not.]
