How Terry Gilliam's Watchmen would have ended

In a recent interview between ComingSoon.com and producer Joel Silver, the ending to Terry Gilliam's version of Watchmen is revealed. Silver produced such films as Predator, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon and the Matrix trilogy.

Good lord. I've read the Sam Hamm script, and I only like one of Terry Gilliam's movies, so as far as I'm concerned they can freakin' have their coulda-shouldas. :-P

The only thing stupider than leaving the alien-squid in (because it would have been too hard to explain in the movie and is my least favorite part of the book anyway) would have been this ending.
