See, I know the characters were supposedly terrified of this song. But as a kid, I thought it was a warning given with the best possible motivations. The oompah loompahs just wanted you to know that charging headlong into you-know-not-what while trusting the grown-ups to know what they're doing -- well, that's just plain foolish!
