Well, hell. No, that's not the best way to wake up.
Has the building management brought someone in to deal with the water mess? Water in a building causes mold really fast if it's not professionally dried out. But the management company or their insurance should be handling that.
The building's contactor is coming this Tuesday to take a look at everything. My home insurance adjuster has already been notified just in case the landlord tried to put any of the responsibility on me.
I'm probably going to have the rug taken up to have them lay down new a wood floor. They are going to paint and break open the ceiling to add water resistant sheet rock slightly angled towards the bathroom. At least if the person upstairs flakes again, it will only leak in the bathroom.
As for comic, they were all in bags and taped up. I just have to replace the boxes, bags, and boards. *fun fun*
There are lots of other things that the water missed that I'm very happy for, so there wasn't as much damage as their could have been.
