I'm back online and have been back since Tuesday. I'm all moved into the new house and pretty much settled in.
Last week the cable company called and said they had an opening for tuesday this week instead of June 3rd to install cable and internet. Of course I agreed to that. They said the cable guys would be here to install it between 12 and 2pm. So I decided to run some errands early in the morning and pickup a connector I needed so I would have enough length of cables to network the computers between the rooms. I come home before 10:30 and I find the cable guys already here. They were done with half the installation already with running the cables from the street to the house. I came home just in time for them to install the boxes for the tv and cable modem. Just a few minutes of waiting and they were done. I told them I was familiar with roadrunner cable and with the dvr box/digital cable so they were happy because they'd be way ahead schedule. I was happy because I'd be online again... but then the cable modem wouldnt connect to the internet. Turned out there was a backlog on initializing the new modems so they had to wait almost 20 minutes before it would go through. So much for being way ahead schedule! After they were done I had to run out again. I still needed to pick up that connector too because the first computer store I went to didnt have it. I couldnt wait to get back on the internet and catch up on everything.
Then I got home, checked my emails, then was thinking I shouldve waited until June 3rd because I'll probably end up being a slave to the internet again. Oh well... I still feel like I'm on vacation though so I'm gonna try to limit my time online. I have yet to decide on where to go next for photo opportunities. I'd like to go to a beach but all the good ones are beyond my adventuring zone at least until I have my car running for summer weather. Or unless someone wants to visit then I'll be a risk taker and hope my car doesnt stall (and if it does I have someone to push the car :P ). Any volunteers???
Okay now the house... It's only two streets down the hill from the other house. It's a lot cooler thought because air flows better through the house. I don't have the nice wide open ocean view anymore but that's okay. I have a partial view of the ocean and a partial view of the mountains now though. The house is fairly nice but its on the corner of one of the two main streets up the hill... This street seems to be the one everyone chooses to use though so its pretty loud sometimes and the city bus has a route past here also. I think I'm getting used to the noise but I do wish I had an ion cannon from star wars that I could use against cars with loud stereos and blow out their systems. I plan on taking video clips and pics of the place tomorrow so I'll have a more detail description then.
