I, I ... Buffy, sometimes it seems necessary to... to understand one's own actions during a given period.

It is my recollection that I, I determined that I should leave Sunnydale, and leave you to function without a Watcher, during the period when the Musical Demon was loose in Sunnydale.

I think it was before the question of, of where you had actually been during your ... time away had actually been clarified. Yes, it must have been. However, my memories from that point are ... somewhat blurred. I suppose that is a function of Willow casting the Tabla Rosa spell.
