Witch Tale: Days of No Trust Part Two

Sep 02, 2006 15:52

Here is the conclusion of my story ‘Days of No Trust’. I'm dedicating it to pfeifferpack as today is her birthday.

This is much longer than the first part; 5,665 words. Part One was HERE. It would probably be a good idea to re-read it before reading Part Two ( Read more... )

Oh what a satisfying end to the tale! `Good for Annie to see the man beneath the wounds. I love this story (and am majorly honored to have this portion with a dedication for me on my birthdy...WOW). This is so visual that I could just see it play out as with a film (and it would make a fine one with a bit of padding for time). Wonderful, wonderful!!! You do this sort of historical piece so perfectly! I know many think of your humor, etc. and they are right, but this THIS is where you shine! You bring the past to life with all its grit and emotion and truth as if the reader is blessed with a glimpse through the mists of time. Beautiful!

This fic is absolutely wonderful! I like how Annie got and used her powers. And Jamie was a wonderful hero. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Oh marvelous! Even though this tale was two chapters - you had the character of Annie and Jamie fleshed out. I would read more of their tales anytime. What strikes me the most is how you capture the time period. Your grasp of medievel times is inspiring.

Thank you!

This period, the bloody years between the death of Good King Richard in 1485 and the brutal suppression of the Reivers by James the First and Sixth in 1607, is encoded into my genes and I can write it as if I'm tapping into racial memory.
